Filip specialises in tax and commercial law. At Agio, he is also responsible for the Mediation and Arbitration Practice. Filip has numerous publications to his name and is co-author of the tax handbook L'essentiel du droit fiscal, ASP, Brussels, 2009.
Filip is also Chairman of the Fonds voor Startende Ondernemingen, which is an initiative of the King Baudouin Foundation.
Education and experience
Filip graduated cum laude with a Master of Laws from KU Leuven (1999). He also obtained a postgraduate degree in economic law from UCL and an Advanced Masters in Commercial Law from the Sorbonne, in both cases graduating magna cum laude (2000). He also successfully graduated with a Postgraduate degree in Mediation from the KU Leuven (2017) and is a certified Arbitrator (AIA Brussels School of Arbitration). Filip is also an accredited mediator in family law.
Immediately following his studies he began working as an associate lawyer at the law firm Tiberghien, afterwards going on to become an associate lawyer and later partner at the Afschrift law firm. He launched his own independent law practice in 2010. In 2018 he joined Agio as a partner.
