Jonathan is a versatile lawyer with particular expertise in tax law and sports law. He is the legal right-hand man for ambitious entrepreneurs and athletes. His practice consists of both advisory and litigation work.
In 2018, Jonathan was appointed by European football federation UEFA as one of its ten Pro Bono Counsels. In addition, he also sits on the disciplinary bodies of several sports federations such as the Flemish Taekwondo Federation and the Royal Belgian Pigeon Fanciers’ Association, among others.
Academically, Jonathan is a researcher and lecturer at the Law, Tax & Business Unit of Hasselt University. He is also a guest professor for the subject “Sports Law” at PXL Hogeschool.
Education and experience
Jonathan completed his law degree magna cum laude (University of Antwerp, 2013) and subsequently obtained additional degrees in tax law (University of Antwerp, 2014) and in international and European commercial and corporate law (Maastricht University, 2013). After running his own firm for five years, Jonathan decided to join Agio in 2019. Within Agio, Jonathan is the partner in charge of the sports law and tax law departments, as well as the Hasselt office.
